oil is a strategic asset, which shouldn't be controlled by
another country, but dictated by market. Until the US
diminishes her thirst for oil, strategic assets must be protected.

when China grows, if they assert themselves against Taiwan or
the US, then what.

end of story. remove the strategic asset status, by removing dependence on oil.
