House sends budget cut bill to Bush?s desk - Politics - MSNBC.com

House sends budget cut bill to Bush?s desk - Politics - MSNBC.com

bin Laden is doing what the US did to Soviet russia
getting them to spend so much out of proportion on defense
that it disables the society.

I'm exasperated, the Prez wants to make the US competitive but dismantles the systems that will permit our students to study.

how much earned vs unearned income is produced.
what are the relative taxes on each of these
why has the government decided to transfer wealth to owners of capital over the backs of the earned income earners.

it's very odd..
taken to the mathematical limit, it seems all sacrifice should be borne by "workers" for the "donor" class... whether Iraq or paying for wealth tax breaks, the average citizen does't realized he or she is being fleeced...

NPR : Bush to Push Health Care Savings Plans

NPR : Bush to Push Health Care Savings Plans

i'm eagerly hoping prez offers something creative to use
the purchasing power of the government to help reduce
insurance and health care costs.

the free market isn't.. and US health care is the most expensive in the world, decoupling citizens from leverage
and massive support of "for profit" companies hasn't reduced costs in the past. deregulation hasn't seemed to work well

hopefully this mediocre president can offer some stimulating new out of the box suggestions....

i think the problem is the government and either Dem or Rep factions, aggravate normal economic processes by distorting incentives... essentially incentives pour from the beltway

like SUV tax breaks when we need hybrid research.
or a poorly drafted non functional medicare plan, which meets political objectives but not operational ones.

since when have lawyers been good problem solvers...

oh well one can hope right.

Palace Revolt - Newsweek Politics - MSNBC.com

Palace Revolt - Newsweek Politics - MSNBC.com

Constitutional loyalists demand the the white house stop using "farfetched" rationales for riding rough-shod over the law and the constitution.

Bush like many CEOs takes maximal advantage, via preferred "constitutional interpretation" whether it's balanced, sensible or correct; and challenges the legal system to keep up.

aparently there are heros in our government trying to do the right thing. if the coterie.. doesn't like what your saying you're screwed.

somewhere the oath of office seems lost in translation.
